In our music, God is glorified!

We GATHER together...

Music is a vital part of our worship at St. Paul.  Our ADULT CHOIR sings an introit and anthem at the 10:15am service on most Sundays throughout the program year, with rehearsals each week on Wednesdays from 7:30-9pm.  On Sundays, the choir arrives for a warm-up at 9:45am. All are welcome – no musical experience necessary!

We GROW in faith...

As we gather each week for worship or in preparation for worship, God reminds us of the value of COMMUNITY.  We grow together as a community as we share our lives, our talents and our time with one another. When we share in making music with one another, we experience community on an even deeper level. Garrison Keillor offers the following:

By our joining in harmony, we somehow promise that we will not forsake each other. I do believe this: People, these Lutherans, who love to sing in four-part harmony are the sort of people you could call up when you're in deep distress. If you're dying, they'll comfort you. If you're lonely, they'll talk to you. And if you're hungry, they'll give you tuna salad!"

We GIVE our best to God...

Youth and adult members of our congregation are encouraged to offer SPECIAL MUSIC whenever possible. We often take the opportunity to supplement our traditional worship structure with the use of liturgies such as Holden Evening Prayer, Now the Feast and Celebration, and Chicago Folk Service, offering a variety of opportunities for instrumentalists and singers from within the congregation to help lead worship in a musical capacity. Please contact the Music Director if you are interested in offering special music for worship.
